AGRIBUSINESS/MARKETING OFFICER

DAPP Malawi is a locally registered NGO working in education, health, food security and community development. DAPP Malawi is inviting suitably qualified, experienced, and interested candidates to apply for the position of Agribusiness/Marketing Officer under the SAMIS Project based in Balaka District. The position reports to the Project Manager.

Key Duties

• Provide governance and technical trainings to cooperative leadership structures
• Strengthen cooperative business management systems and skills
• Support development of profitable and sustainable business plans
• Train cooperative leaders in cash flow projections and financial statements
• Promote value addition initiatives within cooperatives
• Facilitate registration of cooperatives with the Ministry of Trade and MBS
• Organize market meetings to facilitate potential trade agreements
• Conduct market research to identify viable opportunities
• Implement and strengthen market linkage strategies for cooperatives
• Link cooperatives to financial institutions for improved access to finance
• Promote Village Savings and Loans (VSL) as a source of capital

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma/Degree in Marketing, Business Management, Community Development or related field
• Over 5 years' experience in Agribusiness/Marketing and M&E
• Ability to work collaboratively and commitment to attaining project goals
• Ability to deliver reports timely and with high quality
• Willingness to seek advice, get second opinion and accept guidance
• Having worked with DAPP will be an added advantage
